Sacramento’s emo-pop clothing Self Against Town came together in 2004 and, only five months after forming, became the very first band signed to the Drive-Thru subsidiary Rushmore Information. The people — vocalist Jonathan Michael Temkin, guitarists Jack port Matranga and Jeff LaTour, bassist Patrick O’Connor, and drummer Chris Trombley — submitted some demos online, which Drive-Thru co-owner Richard Reines discovered and was quickly impressed by.
