Seguida

An East Coastline Latin rock-band that mixes in a definite mixture of Afro-Cuban, salsa, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, and hip-hop elements, Seguida were shaped in 1972 when bassist and arranger Randolph Ortiz, then only 19 yrs . old, acquired the vision to mix two Bronx barrio rings, Latin Spirit Inc. and Devoshun, into one big-band device. The recently christened Seguida quickly enticed a great deal of interest, and agreed upon with Fania Information, launching a debut record, Love Is certainly…Seguida, in the imprint in 1974, including the hit one “Mambo Rock and roll.” Another record, On Our Method to Tomorrow, which highlighted some disco components, appeared a year or two later in the summertime of 1976, also from Fania Information. It might be three years, though, before a reconfigured edition of the music group documented Seguida III for Onroda Information in 2007. Right now led by drummer Steve Adorno and offering original users Louie Pérez on acoustic guitar and vocalists Lori Rose and Dawn Savio, this 21st hundred years edition of Seguida also included Pete Nater on trumpet, Adam Mason on bass, Gregory Rahiim Press on keyboards, vocalist Anthony Leon, Julian Myers on woodwinds, Jose Davila on trombone, Willie Olenick on trumpet, and congero Pito Castillo and Juan Gerena on timbales. The group’s two initial LPs have already been reissued on Compact disc, On Our Method to Tomorrow in 2005 and Like Is definitely…Seguida in 2006.
