Metaphor was formed in California in 1993 by Malcolm Smith (electric guitar) being a Genesis tribute music group. He was became a member of by Marc Spooner (tips), Bob Koehler (drums), Vince Montia (bass), and his sibling Robert (vocals). Quickly afterwards, the music group began focusing on first material, choosing to drop the Genesis orientation. By 1996, the Montia brothers acquired still left the group. Their absences had been loaded by 1997. The brand new bassist in the group was Jim Post, and John Mabry became the brand new vocalist. The group released their initial record, Starfooted, in 2000. Afterwards that season, Post still left Metaphor and was changed by Jim Anderson.
