Tiny Topsy

Active through the mid-40s, when she sang using the Al Smith music group in Chicago, Tiny Topsy also produced several well-received R&B information under her personal name through the past due 50s and early 60s. Among her documenting classes are some for Federal government Records, in one of which arrived ‘Aw! Shucks, Baby’/‘Miss You Therefore’, billed as by Tiny Topsy AS WELL AS THE Five Probabilities, and which presented tenor saxophonist Ray Felder and vocal group the Charms. Also for Federal government she produced ‘Arrive On, SERIOUSLY, Come On’/‘Band Around My Finger’, ‘Waterproof Eye’/‘You Surprised Me’, ‘Traditional western Rock’n Move’/‘Cha Cha Sue’ and ‘Simply A Little Little bit’/‘Everybody Requirements Some Caring’. Of the, ‘Just JUST A LITTLE Little bit’ was later on covered very effectively by several performers, including Rosco Gordon and Jerry Lee Lewis. She also released ‘After Relationship Blues’ and ‘Functioning On Me, Baby’, documented in 1961 for Argo Information. For a few years ‘Tiny Topsy’ was thought to be a pseudonym utilized by singer-songwriter Bernice Williams (who wrote ‘European Rock’n Move’) although that is now largely reduced. Simply who Tiny Topsy was continues to be unknown.
