Jeanne Carroll

b. 15 January 1931, Ruleville, Mississippi, USA. Carroll sang from infancy in the neighborhood cathedral and by her past due teens was executing in Chicago night clubs. Through the 50s she distributed stages and occasionally performed with observed blues and jazz performers of the time. Performing the blues, she also toured nationally with jazz and blues bundle shows, occasionally going overseas. In the 60s, Carroll made an appearance in Canada, executing at concerts and on tv. She sang frequently with Franz Jackson’s Chicago-based music group, making records and in addition touring US armed forces bases in the Pacific and southeast Asia. Among various other performers with whom she’s performed is Small Brother Montgomery, documenting in Chicago using the pianist’s trio in 1968/9 for FM, Matchbox and Adelphi Information. Also in the group had been bass player Pickup truck Parham and drummer Crimson Saunders. In the 70s Carroll continuing to work primarily in Chicago, documenting there with pianist Erwin Helfer. In the first 80s, she documented in Chicago with pianist and vocalist Marc Lincoln Braun, drummer J.C. Noticed while others. She also toured European countries where she was fulfilled with substantial acclaim. In the first 90s she documented in Germany using the Jumping Jivers, a multi-national music group that also included saxophonists Bob Ruckerl and Diane Ellis, jazz journalist Mike Hennessey on piano, and Al Merritt on drums. From the past due 90s, Carroll experienced made a decision to settle in Germany where she sang with her personal trio, including pianist Christian Rannenberg and blues harpist Ignaz Netzer. Her child, Karen Carroll, can be an achieved blues singer.
