Canasta

A six-piece orchestral pop clothing hailing from Chicago, IL, Canasta formed in 2002. In 2003, the group — Jeremy Beckford (electric guitar and vocals), Matt Priest (vocals, bass, trombone, percussion), Kyle Mann (piano and vocals), Ian Wilson (keyboards and vocals), Elizabeth Lindau (vocals and violin), and Josh Lava on drums — released their initial EP, Find enough time. The work earned quick important applause — from such observed authors as Jim DeRogatis, to mention one — and gained the group a “greatest unsigned music group” mention within a town paper. The hype created with the band shortly resulted in a licensing cope with regional indie stalwart label Minty Refreshing. In 2005, Canasta released their initial full-length record, We Had been Set Up, that was made by Ted Cho. During recordings for record number 2, Canasta kept targets high — and their brands in the documents — by launching a remix record of their initial record. Featuring function by people of regional groups like Workplace as well as the Hood Internet, We Had been Mixed Up premiered in 2008.
