Isidore Washington

b. 24 January 1907, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, d. 5 August 1984, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Elevated by his aunt, Rosetta Howard, and subjected to music from youth, Washington was fluent in the previous barrelhouse-blues designs, but as his aunt was driven he shouldn’t to be limited by them, he also performed pop, jazz, boogie and ragtime. He stated to have inspired all of the New Orleans pianists, from Teacher Longhair to Fatty acids Domino and Adam Booker, and was certainly very much reputed by them. In the 30s he performed in jazz rings, and in the 40s and 50s, he was carefully connected with Smiley Lewis, afterwards signing up for Oscar ‘Papa’ Celestin. Hesitant to record, he was just finally persuaded to take action quickly before his loss of life (which happened at a concert).
