Elwood

Elwood may be the eclectic hip-hop/pop task of vocalist/songwriter/maker Prince Elwood Strickland III and co-producer and songwriter Brian Boland. Created and elevated in NEW YORK, Strickland was raised hearing rap, soul, nation, folk and pop and finally became a documenting engineer at Soho’s Greene Road Recording Service. During his decade-long stint there, he caused performers like Tricky, Mos Def, De La Spirit, the The and Adam Yauch and fulfilled Boland. The duo documented a seven-song demonstration in Strickland’s personal studio resulted in a cope with the Hand Photos imprint, and Elwood caused acclaimed British maker Steve Lillywhite on paths for his or her debut recording The Parlance IN OUR Times, that was co-released in early 2000 by Hand Photos and Lillywhite’s label Gobstopper.
