Bedhead

Slowcore pioneers Bedhead were led by guitarist siblings Matt and Bubba Kadane, whose music collaboration dated back again to their years spent we were young in Wichita Falls, Tx. The brothers continuing writing and documenting together also after Matt still left house in 1985 to wait college in Dallas, and by 1990 these were playing within a music group which also included drummer Trini Martinez and, sometimes, guitarist Tench Coxe. This lineup progressed into Bedhead in 1991 by adding bassist Kris Whole wheat, and early the next season the quintet performed its debut live present in Austin; their debut sole, “Bedside Desk,” adopted that planting season. Impressed by the solitary, the Butthole Surfers’ Ruler Coffey authorized Bedhead to his Trance Syndicate label, and in Apr 1994 the group released their full-length debut What Fun Existence Was, followed within the fall months by 4-songEP19:10. Despite common critical praise for his or her intricate, hauntingly romantic audio, Bedhead was struggling to mount almost any tour until middle-1995 — Matt Kadane experienced since relocated to NY, while Coxe was teaching British in Russia; concurrently, in addition they recorded enough fresh materials for an EP, The Dark Age groups, in addition to an LP, Beheaded. Deal de Novo adopted in early 1998, but continuing logistical problems pressured Bedhead to announce their separation that August; the “Lepidoptera”/”Leper” 10″ made an appearance posthumously, as do a split launch with Macha. In 1999 the Kadane brothers reunited because the New 12 months, a music group that furthered the slowcore esthetic of Bedhead through many albums released sporadically on the following 10 years. In 2014 reissue label the Numero Group released the deluxe product packaging Bedhead 1992-1998, a painstakingly structured assortment of the band’s total studio result including all three information, known EPs, singles and some b-sides and outtakes.
