Biography

The name was utilized by different bands, and was extracted from the title of an exceptionally successful 1924 show co-written by Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle. The initial ensemble deploying it was aimed by Don Redman, and documented for OKeh in 1928 and 1929. Recordings that Redman supervised for McKinney’s Natural cotton Pickers also had been released under that name. Through the early ’30s, many groupings under Benny Carter’s command were called Delicious chocolate Dandies.
