Shining

Norway’s Shining focus on a genre-hopping prog-jazz trend that is equivalent parts avant-garde jazz, experimental structure, power consumer electronics, progressive rock and roll, and extreme steel. Founded in Oslo by saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, in support of continuous member Jørgen Munkeby, the band’s music and outrageous theatrical live present advanced toward a genre from the band’s very own description: “Blackjazz,” called for the name of its 2010 discovery record.
