Novaks

The Novaks hail from St. John’s, Newfoundland, where vocalist/guitarist Mick Davis, guitarist Chuck Taylor, bassist Tag Neary, and drummer Elliot Dicks released the brash, boozy rock-band in 2002. Acquiring inspiration through the Rolling Stones as well as the Encounters (whose keyboardist, Ian McLagan, would afterwards make an appearance for the band’s sophomore discharge), the Novaks started honing their audio in regional pubs. A self-released record helped broaden their viewers in 2005, with many tracks receiving significant promotion via Small Steven’s radio present. Impressed using the band’s amalgamation of vintage traditions, Small Steven reissued the record in the us via his very own label, Wicked Great Information. Guitarist Chuck Taylor still left the lineup immediately after, however the Novaks regrouped being a trio and came back to the studio room, emerging seven days afterwards with 2009’s Issues Fall Apart.
