Norberto Vélez and Gerardo Rivas, the vocalists who constitute pop-salsa trailblazing duo NG2, were definately not newcomers if they arrived. Vélez embarked on his efficiency career at age ten, playing traditional Puerto Rican music with regional groups and signing up for the Orquesta Trompeta de Trovadores by 17. Beneath the path of Unías Lopés, Vélez created from a talented musician into an adept vocalist. He became a member of up with Victor Manuelle’s orchestra time later, where he’d meet his upcoming musical partner. Rivas got gained experience being a musical business owner early on along with his group Gerardito con Los Rockolos. He analyzed percussion in the Escuela Libre de Musica, and upon graduation, became a member of up with Manuelle’s orchestra like a percussionist. With Manuelle’s blessing and assistance, both made a decision to branch out and type their very own group. With songwriting and creation help from market veterans like Manuelle and Ram memoryón Sánchez, NG2 released their debut disk, Comienzos, in 2004.
