The Alps

The Alps are an experimental rock trio from SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA who released their debut studio recording in 2008 after some earlier house recordings were well received. Their music may also be referred to as filmic. Made up of Jefre Cantu-Ledesma (also of Tarentel), Alexis Georgopoulos (aka ARP; also of Tussle), and Scott Hewicker (also of Troll), the Alps produced their full-length record debut in 2006 with Jewelt Galaxies/Heart Shambles. Released over the label Spekk, Jewelt Galaxies/Heart Shambles compiles a set of previously released house recording periods from 2005. The Alps released their studio room record debut, III (2008), a few years down the road Type Records. This year 2010 The Alps released their hauntingly cinematic sophomore studio room record, Le Voyage.
