New York Trio

Also called the brand new York Jazz Trio, this combo is really a studio-only group who focus on recording classic standards in an easy, post-bop style. THE BRAND NEW York Trio features three gifted music artists who are solidly established over the East Coastline jazz picture. Pianist Costs Charlap is an associate from the Phil Woods Quintet, provides accompanied famous brands Tony Bennett, Benny Carter, and Gerry Mulligan, and it has recorded a small number of well-received albums for Blue Take note being a bandleader. Bassist Jay Leonhart provides recorded being a headliner since 1983, while also creating a name for himself being a vocalist and songwriter in addition to burning Marian McPartland, Louie Bellson, Lee Konitz, and many more. And drummer Costs Stewart had taken care of challenging gigs with a number of music artists, including jazz guitarist John Scofield, cool sax guy Maceo Parker and R&B star James Dark brown. In 2001, Charlap, Leonhart, and Stewart teamed up within the studio room to slice the record Blues in the night time for the Venus Jazz label; offering leisurely but heartfelt interpretations of eight traditional melodies, the record was well-received by supporters of traditional jazz. Seven very similar collections have already been recorded with the trio for Japanese jazz brands.
