Spearheaded by former Glassjaw guitarist Todd Weinstock, New York-based Men, Women & Children arrived together in March of 2004. Offering up an exuberant dance mixture of post-punk, funk, disco, and electro beats, the group cites affects that range between Kraftwerk and Speaking Mind to Prince and Giorgio Moroder. The music group originally began like a semi-joke between Weinstock and friend Nick Conceller (a bedroom DJ from St. Louis), who wished to move away from the severe side of rock and roll to rather make music that was fun to hear and a spectacle to view. Weinstock began focusing on some songs with drummer David Sullivan-Kaplan, sending the unfinished items to Conceller in Missouri to include in keyboards and development. Half a year after starting the procedure, Conceller relocated to NY as the music group was actually learning to be a fact. Weinstock’s child years friend TJ Penzone quickly became a member of on as vocalist, recruiting his multi-instrumentalist sibling Rick for bass responsibilities. Men, Females & Children finished some touring — including countrywide schedules with Gang of Four — as well as the group was afterwards solidified using the long lasting addition of touring guitarist Jay Giummule. Focus on their full-length had taken over a calendar year, since three variations of each melody were created and three different companies had a submit the task. Their powerful self-titled debut finally made an appearance in March 2006 on Reprise. A string of tour schedules followed, including displays with Metric, Movement City Soundtrack, as well as the Format.
