Lonesome Shack

Embracing the challenging, expressive textures of postwar blues and boogie while filtering the noises via an edgy post-millennial sensibility, Lonesome Shack was created in New Mexico by guitarist and vocalist Ben Todd. Originally in the Pacific Northwest, Todd relocated to New Mexico’s Gila Wilderness quickly before the convert of the hundred years, where he distributed a truck with his partner. Todd constructed a shed following towards the truck where he’d practice his electric guitar and focus on songs, concentrating on his curiosity about vintage blues; with time, he called the shed “Lonesome Shack,” after a melody by Memphis Minnie, and he utilized the deal with for the music he begun to make. In 2006, Todd relocated to Phoenix, Az, where he discovered to construct and fix guitars. A calendar year later, Todd resolved in Seattle, Washington, after going for a job within a electric guitar store. In Seattle, Todd fulfilled percussionist Kristian Garrard, who used the group Hundreds and persuaded Todd that his single electric guitar performances works better using a drummer. Lonesome Shack extended to a duo, and in early 2010 they released their initial record, Bound to Die. Another record, Slidin Boa, made an appearance past due the same calendar year, and in 2011, bassist Luke Bergman (among Garrard’s bandmates in Hundreds) joined up with the lineup. In Apr 2012, Lonesome Shack documented a present at Cafe Racer, among a common Seattle locations; in late Might, tragedy struck Cafe Racer whenever a gunman got into the hall and without provocation started shooting, eliminating four customers and injuring an associate of the personnel. Lonesome Shack released the Cafe Racer tapes in Oct 2012 as Town Guy, dedicating the record towards the victims from the strike. In June 2013, the reputed unbiased label Burger Information reissued Slidin Boa and Town Man on the two-for-one cassette, and afterwards that same calendar year Lonesome Shack agreed upon with Alive Naturalsound Information. The group’s debut for the Alive, Even more Primitive, premiered in-may 2014.
