John Banister

Banister was a violinist, composer and flageolet participant for the British court. A lot of his lifestyle was astir with accusations and innuendo. Even so, he could stay in the King’s provider until his loss of life and an excellent demand was laid upon him for his “play” music. He composed music for “The Slighted Maid” of Stapylton, “The Tempest” creation by Davenant-Dryden and Sedley’s “The Mulberry Backyard.” His instrumental music, nevertheless, considerably outweighed the transfer of the vocal works.
