Javelin

Produced in 2005 by cousins Tom Truck Buskirk and George Langford, Brooklyn, New York-based indie electronic duo Javelin crafts cool, abstract, R&B-flavored pop with an focus on painstakingly re-created samples and loops. The band’s 2009 self-released assortment of demos (Jamz n Jemz) and couple of Thrill Jockey 12″s (Javelin, NUMBER 2) were accompanied by its debut record, No Más, over the Luaka Bop label this year 2010. The Western-influenced Canyon Chocolate EP followed twelve months afterwards. To record its second record, the duo transferred from homemade noises and only recording in a genuine studio and made a decision to compose more typically verse-chorus songs that might be re-created on-stage using a music group. The resulting record, Hi Beams, premiered in early 2013.
