Electric Sun

This German group was formed by Uli Jon Roth (guitar, vocals) after he still left the Scorpions in 1978. Initially he was helped by Ule Ritgens on bass and Clive Edwards on drums. The group was quickly agreed upon by the mind label and released Earthquake in 1979. It had been a highly religious record, with electric guitar function that aspired to imitate Jimi Hendrix as well as the western world coast acid rock and roll motion. This fusion of jazz and rock and roll music, nevertheless, was disappointed by Roth’s vocals. On Firewind, released in 1981, Clive Edwards was changed by Sidhatta Gautama. The music was improved and highlighted pieces influenced with the oriental custom, despite the fact that the vocals continued to be the same. Roth’s single recording, Beyond The Astral Skies, required four years to total, but when it had been finally released, it exposed a great step forward.
