Dandi Wind

Dandi Blowing wind will be the Vancouver-based electro-dance duo of singer Dandelion Blowing wind Opaine — she swears it’s her true name and promises that she grew up by hippies within a cabin within the forests of central Uk Colombia with neither electricity nor jogging drinking water — and multi-instrumentalist Szam Findlay. Opaine can be an artwork school kid using a history in dance and functionality artwork, while Findlay is certainly openly worshipful of the prior era of Vancouver commercial dance mavens, Skinny Puppy. Findlay’s retro-cool goth-dance beats and Opaine’s loopy vocal design got the duo agreed upon to the Vancouver label Bongo Defeat Information, which released Dandi Wind’s debut EP, Bait the Traps, in early 2005. This is followed by another EP, Nofunicity, itself accompanied by Opaine and Findlay’s initial full-length record, 2006’s Cement Igloo.
