Formerly referred to as Freestyle, NY rockers Blooka includes members Liam Holohan (vocals, guitar), Mike Deroches (keyboards), Steve Valdez (lead guitar), Fernando Castro (bass), and Luiz Marcelo (drums). The quintet 1st came collectively in 1999, playing out locally frequently, and earning the ICAST.com Unsigned Music group Competition (out of 50,000 other contestants). Soonafter, Blooka started posting the stage with such renowned and wide-ranging functions as Rock Temple Pilots, Keeping track of Crows, Live, 311, Blues Tourist, Eminem, and Guster, while their music continues to be played within the Opie and Anthony Display on the brand new York radio train station 102.7 WNEW. The group came into the studio room in early 2001 to focus on their debut documenting.
