Al Kapone

A veteran of Memphis’ hip-hop underground, rapper Al Kapone spent greater than a 10 years in obscurity before Hustle & Stream took his profession to a fresh level. Initiatives like 1995’s Da Resurrection and 2002’s Goin All Out Da Resurrection — an record “provided” by E-40 — gained Kapone a devoted following between the hip-hop faithful and best brands like Eightball, Bushwick Costs, and David Banner seems on his underground mixtape series Memphis Dilemma. In 2005 he broke through when three slashes he composed — “Whoop That Technique,” “Hustle & Stream (It Ain’t Over),” and “Obtain Crunk, Obtain Buck” — became essential tracks in the Hustle & Stream soundtrack. A season afterwards he got a co-writing credit on Lil Jon’s strike “Snap Yo Fingas,” and in 2007 he arrived on Eightball and MJG’s record Ridin’ High. In ’09 2009 he announced programs for a fresh project inspired by Memphis’ wealthy musical background and offering live musicians.
