Nazareno de Brito

Nazareno de Brito studied music using the conductor Guerra-Peixe, but became especially referred to as a lyricist, having made up effective sambas, fox trots, and boleros in the ’50s with Fernando César, Oton Russo, and Alcir Pires Vermelho, amongst others. His initial composition to become documented (by Betinho) had been popular, the fox trot “Neurastênico” (1954). His various other successes had been “Acordes Que Choram” (created with Oton Russo, 1955), “Blim Blem Blom” (with Luís de Castro, 1955), “Bronzes e Cristais” (with Alcir Pires Vermelho, 1958), “Falam Meus Olhos” (with Fernando César, 1956), “Joga a Rede no Mar” (with Fernando César, 1956), and “Podes Voltar” (with Oton Russo, 1956). Brito was also A&R movie director for the documenting businesses Copacabana, Polidor, RGE, and Continental, and a Television show producer.
