L

L is a saving alias of Japan multi-instrumentalist Hiroyuki Usui. Usui started his musical profession as the drummer for Keiji Haino’s Fushitsusha between 1981 and 1987. Then moved on towards the Marble Sheep and Japan’s A-Musick (the second option is not to become confused using the German music group from the same name). As L, he documented the underground traditional Holy Letters record in 1990, that was privately pressed and horribly distributed. Guitarist Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance) championed the record and VHF Information reissued it in 2004 to important acclaim. Chasny and Usui documented a self-titled record jointly as August Delivered in 2005.
