Thomas Preston

Little definitive details is available concerning Thomas Preston. It’s possible that he led the choristers at Magdalen University as soon as 1543 and he might have already been the organist and choirmaster at Trinity University between 1548 and 1552. Addititionally there is mention of him as the play compose of the dramatic work stated in 1560, “Cambises.” The music that’s ascribed to Preston was characterized as demonstrating comprehensive control of counterpoint in four voices and key pad virtuosity. The imperfect function “The Mass for Easter Day time” could be related to Thomas Preston and realized as his most significant work. Analysis will be imperfect, however, because the manuscript is imperfect.
