The Kelele Brothers

The Kelele Brothers certainly are a side project of Ron Sexsmith, Maury LaFoy, Tim Bovaconti, and Don Kerr (Sexsmith’s touring band), whose focus on the ukulele is paramount. As the ukulele could become dropped among the group’s plans (each member is usually a multi-instrumentalist), the tiny, presumably koa solid wood instrument takes on the thread of cause through the entire band’s catalog, even while the centerpiece from the band’s theme track, “Why Won’t ‘U’ Kelele?,” and their name. Each member operates under a pseudonym (Un Rondo, Mo Fuss La Fun, The Bover, and Don Kelele, respectively) and each provides contributed being a songwriter towards the Kelele Brothers’ cache of materials, even though even more obscure covers have already been explored within the band’s two recordings than possess originals. Documented live with one mike to mini-disc in 2001, the band’s initial recording, Get away from Bover State, was composed of shows in some hotel rooms as the group was touring america as the starting visitor on Lucinda Williams’ fall tour.
