Austin Peralta

Jazz pianist and composer Austin Peralta was a technically adroit improviser using a bent toward post-bop and expansive modal jazz. Blessed in LA, California, Peralta was the kid of observed skateboarder and filmmaker Stacy Peralta. A piano prodigy, Peralta started acquiring piano lessons at age group six and afterwards examined with such luminaries as jazz pianist Alan Pasqua and saxophonist Pal Collette. At age group 13, Peralta gained the LA Jazz Society’s Shelley Manne New Talent Award. In 2006, at age group 16, he released his debut record, Maiden Voyage, offering bassist Ron Carter. Also that same calendar year, he released the record Mantra with bassist Buster Williams, saxophonist Marcus Strickland, among others. In 2011, Peralta released Endless Planets on Brainfeeder. Tragically, Peralta passed away of undisclosed causes on November 21, 2012. He was 22 years of age.
