Created in North Dakota but located in Minneapolis, Woody McBride initial gained a name for his acid-based techno beneath the aliases DJ ESP, 4D, and with the Earthworm series, recorded for New York’s Former mate label. McBride also released singles through Drop Bass Network and Germany’s Labworks, but founded his personal Communique label (plus subsidiaries Sounz and Mind within the Clouds) for recordings from Josh Wink, DJ Skull, Damon Crazy and his personal singles.
