Cronkite was for quite some time perhaps one of the most visible and popular network tv newscasters. In 1971, he narrated a thorough aural collage of well-known soundbites from ’60s speeches, broadcasts and occasions set up for the record I Can Listen to It Today/The Sixties, which he also composed and edited with Fred W. Friendly.
