Tyshawn Sorey

New Jersey-born jazz drummer, pianist, composer, and educator Tyshawn Sorey can be an expressive performer with an hearing for contemporary creative acoustic jazz and expansive avant-garde classical functions. Blessed in 1980 in Newark, Sorey retains an undergraduate level from William Paterson School and a Professional of Arts in structure from Wesleyan School. He has examined composition over the doctoral level at Columbia School and has trained at the institution for Improvisational Music, the brand new College, and Wesleyan School. In 2015 he was honored the Doris Duke Influence Award in the Doris Duke Base Performing Arts Honours. The following calendar year he released his 5th album, The Internal Spectrum of Factors, which showcased his structure for piano trio and string trio.
