Tuscadero was among a legion of cutesy punk-pop rings to emerge within the mid-’90s. Acquiring their motivation from ’70s rubbish tradition and sugar-coated childhoods, the Washington DC-based quartet crafted punk-pop paens to tv (they required their name from Suzi Quatro’s Content Days character Natural leather Tuscadero), teenage crushes and issues with parents. Led by Meilssa Farris (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Margaret McCartney (vocals, acoustic guitar), Tuscadero developed a cult pursuing within the indie-rock underground making use of their 1st two albums — The Red Recording (1994) and Stage Into My Wiggle Space (1995) — for the DC-based TeenBeat Information. Elektra Records authorized the music group in 1996, as well as the group’s main label debut was a remixed and partly re-recorded version from the Pink Recording which appeared later on that summer time. Tuscadero’s 1st album recorded designed for Elektra, My Method or the Highway, premiered in the springtime of 1998.
