The Visitors

The Visitors were today’s jazz quintet out of Philadelphia led by saxophone-playing brothers Carl Grubbs (alto) and Earl Grubbs (tenor and soprano) and in addition featuring Sid Simmons on piano, John Goldsmith on drums, and a Stanley Clarke on bass. Carl and Earl in fact required sax lessons in the middle-’50s from non-e apart from John Coltrane, who simply been dating their cousin Naima (Coltrane later on married her).
