The Rooks

The Rooks gained a cult following among power pop fans within the 1990s with a method sketching its main inspirations from your Beatles, Big Celebrity, and the Substitutes. Innovator and co-founder Mike Mazzarella (vocals, tempo guitar) created the group in NY with drummer Patrick Yourell in 1990 after their earlier clothing, a Connecticut music group known as the Broken Hearts, dissolved. An early on incarnation from the Rooks presented Mazzarella’s friend and fellow power-popper Richard X. Heyman, in addition to Heyman’s wife Nancy on bass and guitarist Michael Fernbach.
