The Lofty Pillars

Biography

The Lofty Pillars is really a folk-pop project of Chicagoans Wil Hendricks and Michael Krassner. Krassner can be noted because the Windy Town studio guy who orchestrated the Boxhead Outfit, a post-rock all celebrity ensemble designed for the Dutch Harbor soundtrack. The Pillars features even more traditional songwriting whereas the soundtrack utilized open up, painfully sparse instrumentation to impart a feeling of longing. WHENEVER WE Were Here’s an 11-music romp through his refined, piano powered folk melancholy that seems vaguely like batch of weather-beaten Bowie ballads. Having said that, the album offers beautifully pedal metal and orchestration that recalls the diverse but similarly wide-eyed function of Nick Drake, the Dirty Three, and also Journey.
