The Arthurs

Austin indie popsters the Arthurs seemed destined to become listed on the rates of their fellow throwback rock and roll contemporaries for the Kindercore label, using their ultra-catchy make of somewhat psychedelic songwriting. Shaped by guitarist Brent Pennington after an opportunity encounter with fellow guitarist Give Orsborn in the College or university of Tx, the duo quickly began creating homemade tapes that gained them renown in the neighborhood music picture. High-school pals Andy McAllister and Jamie Reaves would quickly join after running after down Pennington and requesting an audition, impressing him using their knowledge of his songwriting. Bedsongs, their 2000 self-released debut, became a university radio staple soon thereafter. Having been authorized to Dirigeable Information in 2001, whose Sean Davidson also works Kindercore, Strolling in the Sunshine (made by like-minded songwriter Martyn Leaper from the Minders) found its way to 2002 and furthered their status with a wholesome assortment of soaring melodies and complicated harmonies, making them evaluations to rings like Weezer and virtually any touchstone in the Elephant 6 collective.
