T.D.F. is among the strangest and silliest musical tests from a ’60s icon within the ’90s. Where Paul McCartney explored ambient home with the Fireman, Eric Clapton — who expenses himself as “x-sample” — explores ambient new-age and trip-hop because the guitarist for T.D.F, which also contains keyboardist/maker Simon Climie. The duo released their debut recording, Retail Therapy, in March 1997.
