Sound Team

Although Sound Group didn’t officially form until afterwards, the band had its beginnings within a friendship started up by College or university of Tx classmates Costs Baird and Matt Oliver. These were both experimenting in various rings, but their fascination with home documenting brought them jointly musically. After university, they finished up in Portland, OR, sticking to Baird’s close friends Sam Sanford and Gabe Pearlman (who later join Audio Group) and keeping down office careers while still composing, recording, and executing some of their very own materials. In 2001 the duo shifted back to Tx, and soon earned Willis Diviney on drums, Baird’s sibling Michael, who was simply still in senior high school at that time, on keyboards and synthesizers, and Sanford on electric guitar. With this line-up (the elder Baird got songwriting and bass responsibilities while Oliver do electric guitar and lead vocals), Audio Team utilized a four-track to record the CD-R In to the Zoom lens, released in 2002. That same season Michael’s previous bandmate Jordan Johns, got over for Deviney, and shortly Pearlman became a member of in and keyboards. After issuing some self-released albums and cassettes, the music group began Big Orange Information in Austin, where they laid down materials because of their 2005 EP, Function, and their full-length, Film Monster, that was released on Capitol in 2006.
