Biography
When avant-pop music group Trumans Drinking water relocated from NORTH PARK towards the Pacific Northwest in early 1994, multi-instrumentalist Glenn Galloway stayed in back of, re-christened himself Glen Galaxy, and embarked about a (mainly) solo task called Soul-Junk. Composing songs in compliment of Jesus Christ, and actually drawing a big part of his lyrics straight from the Bible, Galloway’s 1st recording as Soul-Junk, 1950, premiered in 1995 within the Holy Kiss label. Several produces (CDs, LPs, cassettes, and 7”s) adopted on such brands as Homestead, Shrimper, and Sub Pop. All Soul-Junk produces are entitled after middle 20th hundred years years — primarily post-war years, strangely plenty of — though Galloway continues to be hesitant to clarify any particular meanings from the game titles or the reasoning behind their nonsequential order of launch. At exactly the same time, Galloway continued to be linked with Trumans Drinking water, touring and occasionally recording using the music group, though not really a formal energetic member. As Soul-Junk, Galloway’s music is a mélange of indie rock and roll, hip-hop, spirit, and all-around lo-fi sonic experimentation, writing some commonalities with Ween, the Beastie Guys, and Beck. An ambitious double-disc established premiered in 1999, entitled 1955, a series that well-displayed Soul-Junk’s genre-hopping tendencies, and 2000 noticed the release from the pared-down 1956, which centered on Soul-Junk’s quirky hip-hop aspect.
