Snakes of Shake

This 80s Scottish group comprised Seori Burnette (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Tzen Vermillion (guitar), Sandy Brown (piano, accordion, vocals), Robert Renfrew (bass, slide guitar, vocals) and Rhod ‘Lefty’ Burnett (drums). Their debut recording’s spotlight was the name track, ‘Southern Mix’, a cut of Cajun-influenced folk pop that was persistently advertised to break the music group, without achievement. Seori Burnette’s songwriting skill was frequently overshadowed by his exceedingly dramatic singing design. By enough time a second record premiered, the line-up comprised Burnette, Dark brown, Renfrew, Neil Scott (electric guitar) and Iain Shedden (drums), the last-named previously with pop/punk action the Jolt. Gracelands AS WELL AS THE Natural Timber highlighted properly the group’s mixture of folk and rock and roll styles. Any improvement was irretrievably undermined when the group’s shop, Making Waves, proceeded to go into receivership, plus they subsequently split. Burnett and Shedden quickly resurfaced in a fresh act, Summerhill.
