Friendsville, PA-based indie pop group the Silly Cushions started in 1986 seeing that the home documenting project of vocalist/songwriter Jonathan Caws-Elwitt; by adding wife Hillary on vocals, the duo released the first in some cassettes independently Pillow Picture Ltd. label. Hillary still left the Silly Cushions in 1992, a comparable period the German label Hoppel di Hoy released the EP When She Gets House, which compiled materials also offering keyboardist Dan Fioretti. Jonathan’s guitarist sibling Sam Elwitt, vocalist Cheryl De Luke and drummer Christopher Earl finished the lineup for the 1994 EP Equilibrium; Strangest from the Unusual, the Silly Cushions’ initial full-length collection, well balanced new studio room recordings alongside previous home demos offering contributions from several relatives and buddies. 1995’s Up in the Surroundings similarly compiled monitors in the band’s past 3 years of documenting activity, while 1996’s “I Liked It–What Was It?,” half of a divide one with Citrus, reached the quantity three i’m all over this japan pop charts. The next Pillow Picture Ltd. assembled a lot more materials dating back again to the group’s first home periods, while Out of Our Depth, released just months afterwards, compiled even more freshly-minted classes, as do 1998’s New Affections.
