Sam & Ruby

Tennessee-based singer/songwriters Sam Brooker and Ruby Amanfu craft soulful folk and R&B-inspired country-pop tunes that reflect their disparate origins. Brooker, who spent his formative years in Bowling Green, OH, fulfilled the African-born Amanfu at a writer’s night time in Nashville in 1999. The set became fast close friends and championed each other’s music, ultimately collaborating for the music “The Here as well as the Right now.” The duo obtained their first strike in 2007 when the intensifying bluegrass clothing the Duhks documented a Grammy-nominated edition of Amanfu’s “Heaven’s My House” (Sam & Ruby’s personal rendition from the music appeared for the 2008 soundtrack to THE TRICK Existence of Bees). Sam & Ruby released their debut recording, The Here as well as the Right now, on Rykodisc in ’09 2009.
