Baltimore local Michael Collins got his begin making music beneath the name Work DMT in the past due 2000s. After producing two albums (2010’s Banana Break up and 2012’s Dreams) composed of drifting, atmospheric sonic collages that hover somewhere within psychedelia, J Dilla-style hip-hop, and Seaside Boys-influenced pop, Collins was pressured to improve the name of his task because of pressure from an EDM group that distributed the Work DMT name (and presumably got better attorneys). He resurfaced beneath the name Salvia Plath and modified the sound a little, heading for even more traditional pastures. While still staying accurate to the neo-psychedelic character of Work DMT, some Neil Youthful and film music affects crept into his initial record, The Bardo Tale, that was released in the summertime of 2013 by Strange World Records.
