As one 1 / 2 of Portland, Oregon’s severe sound mainstay Yellow Swans, Pete Swanson provided sludgy pulsing beats and staticky tape manipulation to counter-top his partner Gabriel Saloman’s feedback-laden acoustic guitar onslaught. Yellowish Swans operated inside a violent panorama of slowed-down screaming dissonance from 2001 until they parted methods in 2008.
