Payne’s Grey

Motivated by such goth rings as the Remedy, Siouxsie & the Banshees, as well as the Sisters of Mercy, Payne’s Greyish traffics in darkly ambient goth rock and roll with details of steel, electronica, and industrial seeping in. The Dallas, TX, music group began in the first ’90s when vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Murdock Scott and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Shawn O’Neill started collaborating. Both gigged frequently on the 500 Café in Dallas, playing unusual experimental music, also banging on hub hats. In 2002, almost a decade following the duo produced, Payne’s Gray released their debut record, Draw It Down.
