Big Manager Sausage started like a novelty act with comedic intentions, but progressed into a formidable music group, whose music ran the gamut from hard rock and roll and blues to funny, tear-jerking nation ballads. Big Manager Sausage, previously Serf Cowboy Answer, pursued independent methods to communicate its music. Sausage around the Mountain, where in fact the music group performed in the Hidden Valley vacation resort in Vernon, NJ, in 2001, was the successor towards the group’s earlier annual three-day summer time event Rampage around the River in Barryville, NY. The music group underwent numerous staff adjustments since its inception in the first ’90s, but at the start of 2001, Mingo Lodge (aka Matthew Checkur) was became a member of in the group by his sibling, co-founder, and co-songwriter Dmitri Thomas (aka Thomas Checkur), both hailed from Woodbridge, NJ; bassist Les Keil, from Brooklyn, NY; and drummer Costs Muchler, from Chatham, NJ. Serf Cowboy Option (afterwards renamed Big Employer Sausage) released its debut Compact disc, A Nights Hard Liquor and Venison Balls, documented at Black Keep studios in Vernon, NJ, in November 1998. The music group debuted under its brand-new name in 1999 on the Heater’s membership on High Best Hill, NJ. The music group transformed its name in order to avoid dilemma. People had believed the group was a nation music group, which conflicted using the music it had been playing, and in addition, there is a German rock music group called the Browse Cowboys. The group originally shaped in the first ’90s when the Checkur brothers became a member of bassist Keith Kahill and drummer Bob Stoll. After a couple of months, Kahill still left the music group for personal factors. The music group has since been through 17 bassists, but bassist Les Keil, who emerged up to speed in 1996, and Stoll performed in the group’s debut Compact disc.
