A native of the higher New York Region, singer/actress Pamela Knowles can be an expressive jazz-pop vocalist that has generally favored a subtle, relaxed approach. Although Knowles swings, she is not a belter; her performing has been seen as a restraint instead of aggression. Knowles, who includes a B.A. in movie theater, spent many years performing in NY before shifting to London and schooling on the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Artwork. Subsequently, she transferred to Australia where she documented her debut record, Like Dance, for the Larrikin label in 1994. Knowles was still surviving in Australia when she documented her next record, Boite de Jazz, that was circulated privately. After shifting back to the brand new York region in 2000, Knowles documented her third record, Thirteen Forms of Desire, which discovers her performing what of poet Yusef Komunyakaa.
