The soul duo Nu Soul Habits, made up of instrumentalist Eddie Towns, Jr. and vocalist Tonye Hilmon, is definitely something of the throwback towards the ’60s noises of Motown and Stax/Volt, using classic instruments, noises and arrangements even though foregoing sampling methods. The two fulfilled in LA in 1985 after shifting west to go after musical careers via a shared friend and discovered their designs and influences suitable. Their debut recording, Meant to Become, premiered in 1994.
