Nick Murphy

Australian singer/songwriter Nick Murphy is most beneficial known for crafting atmospheric digital productions in his previous stage name, Chet Faker. Blessed in Melbourne in 1988, Murphy was raised hearing his parents’ record collection and was inspired early on with the chilled-out jazz of trumpeter/vocalist Chet Baker. Seeking to prevent dilemma with another Nick Murphy, he followed the moniker Chet Faker, debuting using a downtempo cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” in 2011. The monitor proceeded to go viral and helped start Murphy’s career. Many well-received EPs implemented, including 2012’s Considering Textures and 2013’s Lockjaw with Flume. In 2014 Downtown Information released his full-length record, Built on Cup, which debuted at number 1 over the Australian ARIA Graphs. Despite his achievement, Murphy sensed his audio was changing, and in 2016 he announced he was falling the Chet Faker name and continue as Nick Murphy. That calendar year he released the monitors “Fear Much less” and “End Me (End You).” In 2017 Murphy shipped the Missing Hyperlink EP, offering the one “YOUR TIME AND EFFORT.”
