Following the breakup of Stumpy Joe, several members re-formed in 1993 like a punked-out power-pop outfit called the Glory Stompers, that was quickly changed to the Model Rockets due to an identically named band. The original lineup included guitarist/lead vocalist John Ramberg, gutiarist Offer Johnson, bassist Boyd Remillard, and drummer Graham Dark. After an area Seattle one and a compilation appearance, the Model Rockets released their debut record, Hilux, on Lucky Information, which was made by ex-Young Clean Fellow Scott McCaughey. Johnson still left the music group in past due 1994 and was changed by previous Chemistry Place member Scott Sutherland. Switching towards the C/Z label, the Rockets backed their second record, 1996’s Snatch It Back again and Keep It, with an effective tour of Spain.
